2nd May
Just to keep you updated on the problems with posting the
blog. I have just spent the last three days trying to post the
blog, cutting and pasting brings all sorts of problems, with spacing etc,
As you know Google in all their wisdom have decided to pull
the plug on Windows Live Writer. From the end of May it is no longer possible
to migrate the blog over from Live Writer. Google state that it is up to Microsoft
to rectify? And Microsoft is of the opinion that it is Googles problem as they
caused it!! To write the blog on Blogger you need an internet
connection, Live writer allows me to write and post pictures offline and when I
have internet connection I am then able to migrate it over to Blogger. Google
do not have this facility?
The last few weeks have been tiresome as some features have
slowly stopped working when trying to edit and migrate the week’s content over,
it was coming out all over the place and was taking a lot of editing to make it
readable.
The blog was originally intended as a dairy of this trip for
ourselves, but having given the link to family and so many friends, and also
any fellow Motorhomers through different forums wishing to visit the same
places, I then felt compelled to complete this trip, intending to stop once we
arrived back in the UK, and start a new blog to keep as a personal diary.
With the problems we have had with internet access and
purchasing a sim, it has become increasingly harder to keep the blog going, and
sitting in a McDonalds carpark trying to edit the blog with dodgy wifi strength
is taking the fun out of it, and also our trip!
I will try and post updates and will possibly be looking at Word
Press a Microsoft blog although that would mean a new URL, if there is a
possibility I will transfer my old blog in its entirety, and post the new link
on the old blog and finish my association with Google Blogger.
In the meantime I will endeavour to update on the original
blog, albeit in a condensed fashion, possibly no hyperlinks, less pictures, and
possibly less frequent?
Thanks to everyone that has followed our trip, and those
that took the time to post comments, we have a few more weeks left on the road,
and we look forward to seeing you back in Blighty.
